We have an exciting opportunity for three Golf Operations Assistant (one with a Retail focus) to join us for the summer session and be a part of our world-class and high performing Golf Team.

The Role

Millbrook Resort has an iconic and award winning 36-hole champion golf course, which is renowned as world-class in terms of design, beauty and is well-known for co-hosting the NZ Open. The role involves ensuring guests and members are warmly greeted and expectations are met or exceeded along with providing support to management in the day-to-day operations of the golf shop, adding value to all aspects of Millbrook golf operations. We focus on being a part of a collaborative team, delivering a high-end guest experience. We are also looking for someone with a passion for retail who can optimise sales opportunities in our Pro shop.

Success Profile

  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Previous retail experience desirable
  • Good knowledge of the game of golf
  • Excellent communication skills, coupled with a ‘can do' attitude
  • Ability to work on own initiative, as well as work as an effective team player
  • Impeccable grooming standards
  • Ability to work weekends and public holidays
  • Drivers Licence advantageous

What is your leadership style?

I would like to say that I have a democratic approach to leadership. Involving my team as much as possible to participate in decision making, creating a smooth and open team dynamic.

Why do you enjoy working at Millbrook?

Like-minded people across the resort, staff, members, and visitors. Many customers we meet are here to play the sport that they love. Being here to provide our customers with the best experience possible often doesn't feel like work.

What is your favourite aspect of working in the Golf Team?

Over the last few years we have managed to create a dedicated team of staff that have stayed on through several seasons. All staff are friendly and work hard to get the best out of each other.
