The Role
As Assistant Spa Manager at Millbrook Resort, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the success of our award-winning spa. Working closely with the Spa & Wellness Manager, you'll champion team engagement and wellbeing, oversee recruitment, training, and performance management, and ensure seamless daily operations across reception and therapy services.
Your focus will include driving financial performance, optimizing scheduling, maintaining impeccable five-star standards, and creating exceptional guest experiences from booking to departure. This dynamic position combines strategic leadership with hands-on coordination, empowering you to influence everything from team culture and service excellence to revenue growth and sustainability initiatives—all within one of New Zealand's most prestigious luxury destinations.
Success Profile
- Previous leadership or management experience advantageous
- Previous experience in a luxury or spa environment
- Qualifications in health, wellbeing, as a spa therapist, or similar advantageous
- Confident with computers, systems, and programs
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage a diverse team, fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
- Skilled in coordinating daily operations, scheduling, and ensuring seamless guest experiences.
- Highly creative and able to think outside the box
- Excellent communication skills in person, on telephone, and over e-mail
- Experienced in recruitment, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and team development.
- Committed to delivering exceptional five-star service and creating memorable, personalized experiences.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, revenue generation, and KPI achievement
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective communication within the team and across departments.
- High level of attention to detail and exceptional time management skills
- Calm under pressure and ability to prioritise tasks and responsibilities
- Ability to work on own initiative, as well as work as an effective team player
- Knowledgeable in compliance, auditing, and maintaining a safe environment for guests and team members.

Location: Arrowtown, Queenstown
Pay Rate: $68,000 gross per annum
Hours: Full-time permanent (30/40 hours per week guaranteed)
